I am a wife, mother, and entrepreneur juggling daily household chores while managing our family business. I am a Filipino born and raised in Manila, and my other home is Japan. A bit of a trivia: I used to own a café in the Philippines that served cute, Japanese bento boxes.
I come from a family of passionate home cooks, and I first learned the basics from helping my own mom and grandmother out in their kitchens. I was always eager to watch my lola put together a Caldereta or Sinigang. While I only dreamed to be half as good as my mother in making some of the tastiest nimono and Japanese curries.
I love fixing pretty and heart-warming dishes for my friends and family. But because of my busy lifestyle, my cooking approach mostly leans towards quick, easy, and whatever's-available-in-the-fridge/pantry. I keep a stock of the usual Asian (especially Japanese) condiments and spices and believe that no food should go to waste. So, I always try to cook just the right portion/s and recreate leftovers, if there would be any.
With this blog, I aim to help others make their lives a bit easy and healthy, one Eats by Kat recipe at a time.
